Does Egypt even need an introduction?

The name of this country is almost synonymous with history. With a civilization dating back over 5000 years, few destinations can even compare. 

You’ve no doubt heard of the famed pyramids of Giza, the last remaining of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World, but Egypt has so much more to offer. All the way up the Nile, ancient Pharaohs built countless other pyramids and monuments, such as the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, the sprawling temple complex at Karnak, and the towering statues of Abu Simbel. 

Beyond its ancient history, you’ll find Egypt’s Coptic heritage still alive and strong in Cairo, with Roman-built forts and churches. But stronger is its rich Islamic history, leaving behind great mosques and fortresses, like those within the walls of Cairo Citadel. 

Egypt is a bucket-list destination for any traveller with an interest in history.
