Luxor’s Mummificaiton Museum museum features a step-by-step walkthrough of the roughly 70-day mummification process, displaying the tools, oils, and materials ancient embalmers actually used. Alongside human remains, including the mummy of a Late Period priest of Amun, are mummified animals rarely seen elsewhere, among them a crocodile, a ram, and a cat.
